AP Congress minister convicted for Fera violation

The economic offences court on Wednesday sentenced  minister K.Parthasaradhi to a suspended two-month jail term and fined him Rs 5.25 lakh(5.10L fine+15 K reparation) for FERA violations in a 17-year-old case.The minister furnished the fine amount and requested the court to challenge the prison term in high court.The court accepted this and postponed his two-month jail term for a month.

CPM ,TDP parties demanded CM to suspend Minister from the Cabinet and few of the people in the cabinet asked to resign from the Cabinet and continue his legal battle. After his conviction, the minister told reporters that the case pertained to some of his personal business deals before he had entered politics.
